yes typical Dibble, obviously never fathered a child, so basically he has to tell everybody else how to bring your brethren up, basically dibble until you start to bring up a family that listens to your bullshit ... please shut the fuck up, as you would imagine kids start at an early age disregarding everything that their parents can throw at them, whether they be punks, chavs, new-age, hip-hop you still seem to be missing the point that these youngsters need guidance, but they will find that themselves not be breached to you about what their choice of music, dress sense is, you are just using the class thing here again ain?t you dibble ie, I have ripped the money of all the mugs in this forum and aint accountable for it??
because the chavs are seemingly the new thing threatening all the middle age cunts on this forum we are meant to hate them??
me for one don?t@=!!

Well said crofter. Oscar Wilde had Dibble in mind when he said "A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing".
Methinks Dibble has got some deep-rooted problem and should seek some professional advice. It's always a bit suspect when someone continuously has to pick on some other sector of society in order to boost their own insecurity.

You are all heart Dibble. Mixed with being the Samuel Smiles of the 21st Century.
I'm sure the decent working class types you refer to are grateful for your patronage. They are the ones who doff their caps and step aside into the gutter when you make your triumphal way down their streets.
Those of us who were unable to raise sufficient ackers to make the move to "middle class areas" feel eternally damned. I'm surprised that we are allowed to post on the same forum as your elevated majesty.

Hey, mart, I understand you feelings of angst and impotence. It must be awful for a 'uni' lad like you to get out manoeuvred and suckered by a super chav like my good self. But it's all right, let it all out, counsellor Dibbs understands you better than yourself.

Magoo I'm surprised at you. You seem to have overlooked the context of my post - it was a piece from a local paper. 'Twas was not me spouting off. It is society at large slowly waking up to the social phenomena of the underclass and the creeping danger it poses to cultured, principled, mainstream society. And of course I don't view everyone from a working class background as a chav. Which should also be crystal clear from the nature of my posts in this thread and many others I have made elsewhere. For instance, in this thread I?ve spoken of the respectable working classes, who are not chavs and work their fingers to the bone in order to pay their way and ensure that their children get a better start in life than they did. But you seem to have overlooked that bit.

I sometimes get the felling that, while at uni in the 80?s, some folks plucked trendy political and social philosophies out of the air, which have lodged there, festered and become deeply ingrained. These people have become blinkered and intractable in their views. They are now impervious to reason, or objective criticism of the philosophies they hold dear. When someone questions the beliefs they have adopted, or point out the inconsistencies in their philosophies, they get irritated, angry. Because deep down they know it 's the truth, but they don?t want to face up to it becuase they have invested so much of their time, energy, and life in those beliefs, and of course, they would feel a little foolish in having to face all the ?Ha, ha! Ner, ner n ner ner. Told you so!? nonsense that they fear might follow.

In response to your question

?So are you referring to chavism as a type of person and behaviour rather than everyone of a certain socio-economic group??

There?s no black and white answer ? though they are clean and have loads of wedge, a case could be made that Posh ?n? Becks, Jordan, and their ilk, are chavs. But what we immediately think of as chavs ? the tyre screeching, white Vauxhall Astra driving, cap wearing, minging, sociopathic, morons that infest the naffest council estates in the land (the underclass, as opposed to the working class) could be held up as one social group that we could confidently point the finger at.

Furthermore. Yes, I too grew up with the chavs, wore the shell suits, sovereign rings, trainers and chunky gold chain (which I wear to this day) and happily participated in (low level ? never nicked anyone?s car or violated their gaff) chavism. It was fun - Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien. So, I do have an insight into the chav mind that, I believe, qualifies me (over my southern, middleclass, university boy detractors) to make observations and pronouncements on the subjects of chavism and northern working class life.

Ask our mutual pal Lizard about chavs. He?ll put you right. Sorted.

Wow, crofter, I'm taken aback. You have just shown yourself to be a semi-cultured man who has things to say and points to make (never mind that they don?t add up or make much sense). And there was I, was thinking you were just one of those who occasionally posted banal one-liners about nothing of much interest or weight. Keep up the good work dude, I'm proud of ya!

Mine didn't, but they could have stopped eating for a few months to give me a head start in life. Tsk. What sort of example did they set me?

I will indeed officer, as some who have contributed to this thread have failed to notice, your post refers to a piece of journalism that you happened to spot (just like a good peeler) and not your personal ramblings.
Forget the word chav, I used to refer to my mates as 'chav' when I was at college, and indeed they to me, this was a term of endearment, and had no bearing on one,s clothes, jewellry etc. Someone has hi-jacked this phrase and applied it to a category of person who is seen as a nuisance to todays society, because of the way they behave/dress/act etc.
and we interpret it in our own way.
Example-:
You see a young fellow dressed in football training pants, he has them tucked into white sports socks, (sometimes black), he is also wearing a short parka, or indeed a football training top, on his feet he will have a pair of trainers, usually white, usually dirty, he will have an assortment of rings on each hand, some tatoo,s, a chain round the neck (sometimes two), he will sometimes wear a 'hoody'(to avoid cctv) nearly always a baseball cap.
His preferred method of clearing his throat, is to gob constantly, and sometimes for no reason, he swears constantly, and engages in car theft, burglary, violence etc, he also is probably a father, he just doesn,t know it.
To some people he will be a chav, to me he is just a Sad cunt.
And there seems to be more and more of them, because they dont have the willpower to do anything with thier lives. As long as they conform to thier peers, and stick together they will be alright...............wrong!
So!, stripped of any individualism, they roam the streets of Britian, making the place look a fucking mess, there is no disgrace in bieng a 'chav' just as there is no disgrace in twatting one, should he get on your nerves.

Hope this helps.
