What about the chav-bashing that goes on? I find that a bit disquieting.

So do I. It seems we have a large part of our society/media that thinks nothing of allowing such lazy classism to prosper at present. In what way is this exterior to the pc/un-pc debate? A new, acceptable prejudice?

Prejuidce against those that steal, vandalise and generally pollute society?
Tsk, tsk, whatever next?

So I was right then?
Whatever next? How about better prospects for those in the same social strata who don't steal, scrounge etc.?
Surely it's the sneering generalisms and attitudes aimed at what's termed the underclass as a whole that will merely widen the gulf between them and the more prosperous mainstream society, and make the transition from former to latter (for those that want it) all the more difficult?

What concerns me, and should concern others, is the general condemnation thats being made based on the way people dress.
We all know how to recognise a burglar, the black mask, the striped jersey and the large bag marked "SWAG".

Shame that! I find the term quite endearing, I would quite like to be a chav, however my class and breeding preclude me from such activities, I see myself more as a higher class of pikey, with chavish undertones, and a smidgeon of scally.

But Chavs must exist---Officer Dibble talks about them all the time. You'll be telling us Santa doesn't exist next.
