liked band of gold at 1st but the next series was a bit complex for me.

I had forgotten about Schmidt's. The story was that they closed down during WWII because all the waiters and kitchen staff were interned.

Hi Mart That conficts with other stories I have heard. Some of the staff were intered , but it remained open as it was a favourite place with a lot of the Government

Thanks but you know the journos saying "Never let the truth spoil a good story."
If people in high places liked it they probably pulled strings to ensure the key staff weren't interned....lol
