Well,
His previous band, Pantera have sold over 13 million albums to date so quite a few people have heard of them. Their 3rd album 'Far beyond Driven' went straight in the US charts at No1 and they were the first metal band to ever achieve this!

Autumn turns to Winter.
Chill out Autumn.
I wouldn't go as far as "one of the worlds greatest guitarists" in fact, although I like the odd Damage Plan & Pantera track, I wouldn't really put him anywhere near the top of the pile.
Ace, I appreciate the irony of your comment bro.

He was near the top of the pile Holden and in heavy metal terms he was one of the top ones. Amongst the van halens, hammetts, etc in heavy metal terms and like Ive said to people his writing of riffs was as good as anyones. To be honest realy classical and heavy metal show off the skills of a guitarist at best and to validate autumns comment I think its arguable that heavy metal is the most mainstream of all the genres displaying skill.....as a teenager he was so good he wasnt aloud to enter talent contests any more cos he was too good.....thats rare

Well everytime we've had a poll on guitarists, I haven't seen his name hit the top spot or come close.
To each their own. I'm not dissing the dude.
Anyway, I'm off to play Save Me, out of respect.

Probably because despite selling 13million records they still werent what you would call a regular heavy metal band. They called themselves power groove but essentially the vocals are/were hardcore which makes them less appealling to the mainstream and hence probably never received the accolades of respect from the masses that brings. Thus not being included on internet porn sites message board forums amongst a bunch of people mostly over the average age of their fan base and not interested in HEAVY heavy metal.
Im surprised and saddened at some of the insensitivity about this subject on this forum, shame on you. The apparent root of the murderers motive could affect any band, any time - including any of your favourites. Imagine someone you never met just walking up to you and literally blowing your brains out.
