I noticed the blurb in the TV listings all seemed to refer to the 12 yr old girl who was taking part. I wonder if that was on purpose to get the dubious crowd watching?
(Didn't see it myself, presumably all those watching would have been disappointed with how much they showed of her?)

True, but then so has the BBC's, especially in its overdone touchy-feelyness. Witness the clunking vocal emphasis on children, tragedy, families etc, as if we wouldn't have realised otherwise. Once upon a time the true horror of these events sank in through the almost cold objectiveness of the reporting - you got the chill of reality. Now you get the manipulative 'emotive' approach that smacks of the fictitious. Thankfuly the images speak for themselves.

The Beeb has been in a sharp decline, without a doubt, on the news front in the last few years. But its presenters have yet to reach the careful, simplistic, slow, as if explaining to a child of six style of Sir Trev, Nicholas Owen and Mark Austin, among others.

Except for the top-rated comedy show Fox News.

At least in the UK you can make a complaint.
I've just tried to make a compaint/query about a change of programme (for fucking tennis) at 8.00pm and there is no one working in the studio.

That early warning detection system is working a treat then
can't wait till one way video phones are the norm
I must ask...Why complain when
you know they'll pay you lip service with "apologies for the interrupted schedule" and then forget you
cheers
