Im a smart ass, I bypass the recycle bin - have done the system clean up and made no difference, starting to tear my hair out now! Annoying thing is Im a technical consultant for an international computer company and I just cant figure it out!!

I installed SP2 but it was months ago so I dont think thats the cause but who knows???? trying the control alt thingie now!

If you want to know for sure that its not spyware related and just your computer malfunctioning hijack this would be the go

Just make sure you run CW Shredder before Hijack This,both available here

Then you can either post the log to


Presumably these errors messages have some form of heading when they appear

Their what I always use to search on google or computer forums for my operating system when trying to unravel a mystery

ran both and both found nothing - I reckon its the dll thing mentioned earlier but I cant find which one!!

I was going to mention the mr fix it program
Has solved 3 different problems on my computer that had the It experts stumped

Says its XP friendly so might work on XP pro

I suppose your worse case scenario is crash,burn & re-install
Seems to be the fallback position for most IT experts

So Iassume you were unable to restore to a setting before all the mayhem started?

the only restore point is about 12 months ago and I may as well rebuild as do that!! thats for your help and suggestions! :)

Theres always posting your problem on an XP computer forum

No 2 problems are the same but solutions generally come faster from people using the same operating systems
