Re: U2 Tour
A trick all the big acts are pulling, mind - how much would Floyd tickets go for I wonder? It is steep, but at least you get something fairly unique, and it's easy for people to piss ?85 up the wall of an evening and have nothing to show for it these days.
"Let's do it..."

Very similar experiences here....
Impossible to even access the sales sites initially, then even though I got through to the seat allocation stage, payment was refused.
And ?85 a seat - absolutely astounding considering other headline bands usually command about ?40 a go.
Of course the touts managed to access plenty of tickets to sell at ?300 a shout already.
I'm just glad, that despite protestations by my other half, I never paid ?20 for member.
Incompetance or greed? 50/50 imho, there's certainly no chance of U2 getting any more money out of me ever as they have metamorphasised into fully fledged parasites!

"how much would Floyd tickets go for I wonder?"
Good question, I'd love to be in a position to find out! Mind you the last two Pink Floyd tours were fairly modestly priced, tickets for the Earls Courts shows were ?25 although it was over ten years ago now...incredibly.
I'm genuinely puzzled as to why U2 are seemingly trying it on with these massive ticket prices, I really didn't think it was their style. I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford tickets but I'm getting a feeling which is alarmingly close to "Rip Off" so I'm not sure that I'll bother. After all I passed up the chance of a bootleg of their last album and bought the real thing instead as I felt such a git about "Stealing" music!

Let's face it. For want of a better term, 'rock & roll' is fifty one years old & well past it's natural life span. Rather than have gone down like a wild animal, it now crawls off to it's multi national corporate owner, moving only when prodded by an accountant!
Alex Harvey & Lee Brilleaux must be rotating like tops in their graves. A curse on them all. Fuck 'em

I did see them twice, and so much was happening on stage, it passed you by, so I was thankful the concerts came out on video (at the time) and I watched them and saw stacks of stuff that passed me by, and in hindsight, wish I had got these instead.
The Zooropa tour was amazing, as was PopMart, but couldn't get tickets for Elevation tour, but do have the DVD to see what I missed, and its very good.
No doubt, a show from this tour will be released before the end of the year, they normally do. Actually they've released a few tours on video/DVD, Rattle and Hum is still my favourite, the B&W footage is brilliant with a band at their peak
