yep, a lot of superb artists popped up on 70's productions. i'm thinking of jazz-funk maestros such as eddie russ, lonnie smith, ed thigpen, robin kenyatta, johnny hammond, roy ayers, etc. sublime stuff...

regarding the aritsts i mentioned the answer is almost certainly, not.

i suppose that is possible, especially in the context of the 70's when porn almost became a mainstream medium for a while.

i can sypmpathise. i've an old audio tape of a soundtrack from some long forgotten skin flick, circa the mid-seventies, that has some of the best wah-wah guitar work i've ever heard. no idea who it's by and probably never will do if it was composed specifically for that production.

I have mixed views towards music in porno's. It sometimes can help, other times it can hinder. I once watched this 20 minute porno featuring 1 bloke with 2 girls. There was no dialog, no story just relentless action that started by a swimming pool and ended in the living room. The music that played not stopped through out was as rentless as the action and was some for of heavyrock/metel/numetal and really added something to the picture.
The only other options seem to be:
1.Slow cheesy music 70's style (which works well with fuzzy 70's porn and the actors with their big hair do's).
2.No music, Dubbed over sound fx, which is the worst option of all.
3.No music, the actual sound fx recorded on the day, which can vary from silence to slapping noises with the inclusion of a groan here and there.
Back to the 70's big budget films, at least they had a mix. Scens of no music with dialog and music that plays only duing the 'getting in on scenes'. Maybe is had something to do with the editing phase. Edit the sex scenes and slap a music track over the top
