"But mother of all sins, they brought in Robert Halford to sing those gigs."

I have a good quality bootleg of one of these gigs and it's notable for two things. On the upside Iommi plays an absolute blinder, he really is on fire. On the downside Rob Halford sounds.....awful. He really cannot sing those Ozzy and Dio songs and sounds hopelessly out of his depth although I admire his guts to give it a go.

I agree about "Born Again", I've always been a big fan of that album. There are some great tracks on there; "Disturbing The Priest", "Zero The Hero", "Born Again"....I always thought that Bill Ward was a big factor is Born Again sounding so awesome, his drum sound is epic and, yet again, it contains some of Iommi's most polished playing. There are some smoking hot bootlegs from the Born Again tour, Gillan really shines on "Heaven and Hell" in particular.

There is another Iommi/Glenn Hughes collaboration album in the pipeline (As well as solo albums by Bill Ward ("Beyond Aston") and Geezer Butler ("Ohmwork")) and rumours of a tour or, at least, appearances by this Iommi/Hughes project at Ozzfest this year. This means there will be three Iommi/Hughes albums completed (Including "Seventh Star" and "The 1996 DEP Sessions/Eighth Star") and means that hopefully we'll get to hear some of the Seventh Star songs played live again.

2005 could be a grand year for Sabbath fans!
