I run a program called "Mailwasher". It checks your mailboxes and shows whats there (without actually downloding). From Mailwasher you can delete, blacklist and bounce any e-mail back to where it came from.

You can download it from it here

Its a load of bollocks,But i heard if you do provide money or give your details out to these people it has nothing to do with Nigeria.(Somebody i sort of know(a friend of a friend) Reckons who works in computer fraud investigations this sort of spam and scam is actually russian mafia(and what there do with there money is buy arms and weapons) if true or not i don't know,i'm only hearing what i heard.(but its not always Nigeria there use there use other 3rd world poverty africa nations in there ploy).

but you got to be dumb to give your bank details out anyway.

Its like that other great scam Banks writing to you to say there lost your details can you fill out form(Banks and Building societys dont email the public or phone up public if there a problem with your account, there write by snail mail and if you unsure you phone them to double check if there have wrote to you.).

I had a email once claiming from Yorkshire bank which made me laugh because i never had a account with yorkshire bank(again you get emails from banks etc just delete it off you email or transfer it into your spam box)

There are idiots who do take these emails seriously and there bloody give there details out to these(well i call them non faced people who do the fraud are bloody plonkers)

The trouble is, when they come from banks people get panicky. The get rich schemes are easy to see through.

I do feel sorry for the ordinary internet user in Nigeria, though. While we in the UK will happily chat to someone from Australia or the US, one sight of a letter from Nigeria and we treat the sender as if they have rabies.

Since most of these scams are based on some sort of (fictitious) fraud, anyone falling for it seems prepared to engage in illegal behaviour. Serves them right then.
