An interesting subject dibbsie and while i agree with you on quite a few things especially chav culture,i do think you are wrong on this one.Iwent to a secondary modern school[who elsewent?]where there was coporal punishment,i should know as well because i and six others were caned on both hands for running on some stones!for fucks sake.The shit of a headmaster broke two canes on my hands ,iwas lucky in one respect iwas the first;the look on the faces of the other lads after me was of compete shock especially after that shit went and got another six canes[just in case].
The reason why c.p. was rescinded in my school was because the teachers that did that sort of thing started to get filled in.
a good teacher leads by example,not by force.I realised this when i went to college where i studied electrical engineering,one of the teachers was an ex. amatuer boxer;we new not mess with him and he was an exellent teacher.I remember him with great affection unlike that other shit who for years afterwards,if i saw him in the street ;i would have kicked the shit out of.
