So long as your wear the right heels with the little black number, Steve.
Don't worry---I'm just jealous because I can't fit into a black cocktail dress, and I won't be going to the BGAFD bash.

Well if it's distance thing, you'd be more than welcome to crash at my gaff....but if you was to wake me up in the middle of the night with your bagpipes playing Mull of Kintyre, I should say Oi Crackers, Nooo. Much as I admire and respect your ability to sit on the fence without getting splinters, I object to being woken by the sound of you sucking on a pigs bladder.

The offer is much appreciated, Holden, but it's a work thing---and a medical thing (finally getting those festering splinters removed).
I'll have to enjoy the event vicariously (again!). Thanks, though.

Surely you know the definition of a gentleman. Someone who can play the bagpipes but doesn't.

Who invented them, that's what I wanna know.
Was it born out of some deviant sexual Scottish highland games?

I think the Egyptians had them. Wasn't our invention---we just stole 'em.
To my mind, the definition of a gentleman is someone who can play the accordion but chooses not to.
Love the Larson cartoon: picture one, an angel saying Welcome to heaven, here's your harp; picture two, a demon saying Welcome to hell, here's your accordion.

But you left out all the good parts about Hell
In Hell: the cooks are English,
the policemen are German,
the mechanics are French,
the lovers are Swiss
and the bankers are Italian.
cheers
