Officer, I am very much a patriot - I love my country but I don't like what is happening to it and I very much disapprove of this government and the way it manipulates situations etc.

Are thy worse than the Nazis? Lets put it this way - at least the Nazis were up front about it... I have no respect or time for any of these types of regimes - extreme right or extreme left.

You say that this gov't would deploy all underand means to protect its citizens from rogue elements - absolutely and I would expect and condone nothing less... but lets not forget that its this government that has put us at the mercy of these rogue elements.... do you see the likes of Finland or Switzerland under threat? No... they keep themselves to themselves and run a tight ship... this lot we have here are a disgrace, but having said that - I doubt any of the other major parties would be any better...
I retired when I sadly realised nobody wanted me!

I?m just thinking about your comments regarding the Nazi party and in specific about them being up front. Well from what I recall they were not to happy with a particular race and did try to cleanse the planet of their existence. According to a far better man than I (HISTORY) they actually did this on the quiet leading the people to believe that a repatriation program was running and all involved would have a nice holiday. So unless I have different understanding about the NAZI state up front they were not.

Now then with respect to this government putting us at the mercy of Rogue Elements as the actress said to the bishop, wow that?s a big one. There are elements in the world that will slaughter women children and babies just because they happen to be on a plane or train or bus or motorway or just in the wrong place at the wrong time. These people do not know the innocent people that they seek to murder they just dislike their way of life so therefore it becomes a reason for slaughter. To them the fact that you live in a land where you can watch a man and woman shag each other stupid is enough reason for you and your family to die.
It does seem mad that we think they will leave us alone if we mind our own business which they probably would if we changed foreign policy and foreign business interest but then the little UK man on the street pays more for XYZ and has to change his way of 123 and though we all moan and groan we do like our way if life.

I?m not having a go or saying we should or should not have bombed the living shite out of Iraq but either way the rogue elements had targeted the west long before any bomb was fired in the name of WMD.

George Galloway, well I feel history will teach the lesson of a fool and his fodder

If three witches watch three watches, which witch watches which watch?

Joseph McCarthy never did find out, he was too busy carrying out his closeted homosexual practices.

Don't hold Switzerland in high esteem, they are one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Rich, yes ... but most Swiss would sell their granny for a bit more.

You know you've been in switzerland too long when:

you think getting up early is good.
you actually get interested in the local elections.
you expect the shop clerk to say goodbye after you purchase something.
you try to defend cartel based economics to a visitor.
you think that plaid jackets with flowery ties don't look that bad.
you think it's fair that you can only wash clothes once a month.
you wonder why anyone would want to shop outside of working hours.
you think it's OK to drive slow on Sundays.
you feel like you're broke if you have less than SFr. 300 in your pocket.
you dress up to go grocery shopping.
you understand why Chinese food should cost more than normal food.
you prefer Swiss wine.
you wish that your hometown had expensive garbage bags too.
you think it's OK for a Chinese restaurant to be run by a Swiss and staffed by Spaniards and Portugese.
your German/French is better than the waiter's.
you think Thursday night shopping is really convenient.
you think that large American cars are 'cool'.
you think it's cool to drink expensive imported American beers.
you prefer fizzy mineral water to tap water.
you throw a party and expect everyone to leave by 11:30 pm.
you begin to understand the subtlety of the Swiss cuisine.
you appreciate the differences between the cantons.
you feel really hungry if you don't start eating lunch by 12:00.
you have breakfast cereal for dinner.
you say Gruezi/Bonjour to everyone, and consider it impolite when they don't say it back.
you don't mind paying SFr. 16 for a paperback book.
you think that Swisscom approved telephones are better.
you buy a new one instead of getting it repaired.
you think that 3% unemployment is high.
you believe it was through its own efforts that Switzerland stayed out of World War II.
you consider getting goats and sheep to graze in your backyard.
you only eat fondue in winter.
you complain to your neighbour about the noise when he flushes his toilet after 10 pm.
you become interested in the myriad of insurance offerings.
you take part in Jass tournaments.
you expect to be delayed by road works every summer.
you find it normal to park your car 6 blocks away from your home.
you become concerned about the colour of your neighbour's curtains.
you put Aromat or Toro on all your food.
you worry about getting a cold when there's a draft.
you become offended when reading this.

Nice one. Its good to see someone having a go at that smug race.
Did you know that the Swiss respect their citizens' rights not to do National Service on the grounds of conscience. Yeah, they just won't ever employ them as teachers or civil servants....bastards.

Well, at least he's had the balls to front up to them. I love his remark about Rumsfeld.

Btw, I'm no admirer of Gorgeous George. But Bliar isn't on my Xmas card list either.
