Edinbru and Glasgae get on about as well as France and England, and since you'll be doing your west coast impressions in the east . . . .

Nah, you should be fine. Watched Gregory's Girl again the other night. Don't think I'd ever tire of that film.

It's easily one of the best Briti...Scottish films.

It's a total feel good movie right down to the musical score.
I had to read it for English and I hated it but when I read it for pleasure, it was something else.
I think we all identified with Gregory.
We were all nerds.

That Sinking Feeling had a much more depressing feeling but was still very bittersweet.
The start where they are all sitting in the smashed up car and talking about suicide was class.

The dude that played Ronnie in Gregory's Girl, what ever happened to him?
Sinclair has since turned into a total cunt.

Whereas Dee Hepburn still makes my bollocks ache.
She delivers Avon goods now.
Shame she doesn't come down south.

He only has the three acting credits on the IMDb site---That Sinking Feeling, Gregory's Girl and Comfort And Joy.

I'm a couple of years older than the kids in GG, but a lot of it rang true. Gregory pulling his buttoned shirt over his head in the changing rooms, and then applying the liquid anti-persperant to the armpits.

The fact that the cast improvised a lot of the dialogue made it more real as well.

Dee Hepburn? No, I'm more likely to have been one of the sixth years crying myself to sleep over Clare Grogan :-)

Clare Grogan indeed.
I only ever fancied her when she was in Gregory's Girl. I was 8 when that was made!
Scary.
I was just a kid and when I saw her again in Altered Images I thought she looked nasty.

I don't think I've seen Comfort & Joy and I doubt I'll get the chance to seeing as That Sinking Feeling was only ever shown the once.

They don't make films like that any more.
Gregory's Two Girls was total shit in comparison.

It was pretty awful, yes.

Comfort And Joy isn't in the same league as the others. It has some great moments, but the central plot---about ice cream van wars in Glasgow---had a tragic real life equivalent.

Still, it's worth seeing for an early starring role for Bill Paterson, and a very attractive Clare Grogan, but by now her lack of acting talent was obvious. I'll have to look for it---20 years since I saw it, I think.
