Yeah you'll be spending all right! There's a lot to get! I would seriously suggest you get Diamond Dogs if you like the Ziggy album and I've always regarded Aladdin Sane as the "Sister Album" to Ziggy so you'll need that too. It's totally awesome although slightly more oddball than Ziggy but in a good way.
His output is incredibly varied from the hard rock of "Man Who Sold The World" album to the electronica of "Low" through to the soul of "Young Americans" so it's common for Bowie fans to dig certain phases of his career much more than others. I've always bigged up the "Outside" album although it takes a lot of getting into, it took me literally years to fully appreciate this album. It's a dark, vaguely conceptual work finding Bowie at his least mainstream extreme but, given time, it opens up and reveals it's majesty and the highlight's such as the soaring "Strangers When We Meet" are exceptional.

I'm with you Ace, I think. I'd maybe add Jean Genie & Let's Dance as well.

There's so many to choose from, and so many different styles, it's quite difficult to choose one particular track.
My fave Bowie albums to listen to are Ziggy Stardust and Low, worlds apart from each other. Indivudual tracks that spring to mind... Space Oddity, The Man Who Sold The World, The Supermen, Life On Mars?, Queen Bitch, Soul Love, Starman, Suffragette City, Jean Genie, Fame, Golden Years, TVC-15, Always Crashing In The Same Car, Ashes To Ashes, Fashion, Up The Hill Backwards, China Girl, Loving The Alien... I could on and on...
