Ah the good old days of Win 95/98 and their opperating qwerks but alas the SP1 additions stops all you naughty boys pinging like children (microsoft 1 children 0). Plus there are things called FIREWALLS which ignore iregular pocket pings. These mailers piggy back their IPs on open gateways so the chance of you getting the correct IP is weak indeed.

I have if you try using an older kernal of Linux you will find 'death pinging' is well and truly alive.

Ahh the old ego fuelled feeling of being untouchable......be careful BB many of these litte kids will take that as a challenge and no system is untouchable.
I have nothing to do with the porn industry and still get masses of virii (viruses) via email so try not to take it as a personal attack.
Many virii are self replicating too so will use any unsuspecting computer to send itself out to all of their email contacts and so on....so sometimes the person you receive the virus from might be known to you.
But as you said you got all the right safety gear in place so nothing to worry about....just keep it updated and only the really intelligent "twats" could possibly do any damage.

Well I would imagine that the said computer geek feels great knowing that he can get you to post moaning about his infected mails. Just think there he is toiling away at destroying your pc never knowing if you are aware of his life and then whoosh you announce to the world that he is not getting to you and how he will never destroy the multi wulti PC mega gig hyper mem system and how you would like to see him and his mates try? If you are using XP there is a witty little thing called Blue Screen doing the rounds that I feel some little boy may feel its his duty to get your PC's doing?
