I have just spent 35 days over the last 12 weeks being part of a team doing and some of the young people on my team were the same !

I live in the town with one of the highest traveller populations in U.K. I went to school with travellers, my grandmother was one, and my brother and sister have both married travellers. They are better people than most, strong morals, hard working, and still seem to have the same values that most of us left behind in the 50's and 60's. They are however 'Romany' Gypsies. The lot your talking of sound more like Irish travellers, a totally different race of people altogether, not 'gypsies' at all, and Gypsies detest them as much as anyone.

a girlfriend of mine married a gypsy bloke and he used to knock her about and her kids he even liked her to screw his mates then tell him what it was like,they even invited me down but i never went.

Arnold was not talking about Gypsies in the first place.

He was talking about Pikeys. They are not a distinct race, just nature's rejects.

What area is this in?

Arnold lives in Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire but likes to make out he lives in a "Tough Area" like Dagenham. Those "Pikeys" he claims to have seen were really little old ladies on their way to church.

Fair enough Steve but that wasn't because he was a gypsy but because he was an asshole. All communities have them.

Pikeys are Irish travellers. They are a distinct race, just a very different one to Romanies. They are all linked by blood, have their own language which is seperate from everyone elses, and you can't 'become one' you have to be born one.....that's a distinct race. Whether they are natures rejects or not is not my place to say.

Don't they call the surface little old ladies play lawn bowls on a 'GREEN'
