Shocking at the time, but now it just seems like another tragedy in history ... overshadowed by the Tsunami and New Orleans. Even the London bombing just seems like one of those unavoidable things, it was always going to happen, just surprised it took so long and didn't kill that many. Unless you knew someone personally who perished, it's hard to have emotions more than a few months down the line, more so for a city you don't live in. Most events seem important and life changing in the heat of the moment, but they're just one more statistic or milepost in history and there's always another one coming up.

Ground Zilch, an article in the New Statesman Sept. 5th says that planning for the re-development of the site is a total shambles.

If you are all so opinionated on this topic (au contraire to " The BGAFD communify" topic" thread- moaning about nothing about nothing), why not appear on Question Time or a local equivalent, as opposed to "educating" us all with what you think?

I'm all for expressing a valid point, but it pisses me off to see people try to outdo each other on a forum unrelated do the issue at hand. Try a political website. The nigh-on racist thread on the london bombings was laughable, and the "one-upmanship" of "I know more than you" is equally pathetic.

My mate was born on this of most unfortunate days, an we had a great night.

Just an opinion (pissed).

I'll regret this in the morning, but shucks!

Yours in unpopularity, ff.

Who is your post addressed to?
I'm not expressing an opinion, I'm drawing people's attention to an article.
If it doesn't fit in with your attitudes that your problem not mine.

I take it all back.... there's nothing worse than an incoherent drunken rant. I wasn't having a go at you mart, I seem to have accidentally posted in direct reply to your good self. I can see my point though- it applies especially to some of the more political posts- which is why do some folk (I think one or two of them got banned after the London bombings thread) feel the need to pretend they have a doctorate in politics on a PORN forum, of all places? I think I was generalising...

Anyways, that's the last time I post anything here about something serious. I was talking pish and I apologise.

Yours in porn, ff. :)

O/T Forum, meaning "Off-Topic" (i.e. non Brit-porn) Forum
"O/T Forum - A place to socialise and share opinions with other BGAFD and EGAFD members"

Four years ago Mark and Lard were doing the lunchtime slot on Radio One (remember that?) and, to my considerable annoyance, falteringly announced they weren't going to do their usual comedy slot because of the "pictures coming through on the television." An eerie moment.

In the short term maybe, but post Tsunami? post New Orleans?

Both happened post 9/11 mind.
