Of course it doesn't matter. The fact that no one is at all surprised means it wouldn't affect his standing with fans of Star Trek.

The problem with such frank admissions is only for those who have a screen persona as a ladies' man. It took decades before Richard Chamberlain admitted to being gay (I'm assuming he eventually did), and it will be decades yet before a certain diminutive Hollywood leading man who seems to be very demonstrative in public with the ladies in his life, yet cannot spark enough on-screen sexual chemistry to light a candle, will be prepared to be honest about his preferences.

But again, none of it really matters save to those sad enough to live vicariously through these stars.

For his private life and in the view of a lot of people it doesn't matter whether he's gay or not ... but in terms of his career it does, that's why he never came out years ago. The result of coming out 20 years ago could have had a Jason King type effect ... nobody has any partcular problem, apart from those who may give you work.

He's at a point in life where it doesn't really make a difference - true fans will remain fans and any publicity is good publicity. He has been slagged off in the gay press for waiting so long and only using it as a needed career boost

Did I say Yoshi?????????? I mean Hoshi. God, Linda Park is a fine looking woman.

(Note to self, never post when only half awake).

You're absolutely right! Linda Park is the finest woman to walk the floor of any federation starship. If you're a fan of The Flaming Lips that may explain where the 'Yoshi' came from.

Wish I had that as an excuse, Tone, but no. Just my ineptness.

Still, here's lovely Linda in all her glory.
