I have some friends who worked as stable lads and it's this inside information that put me off betting on most horse races for good.
It was great when I got the nod that a certain horse was trying and even better when I got to a race course and had my card marked by them on those that were trying and those that weren't. But once that info dried up (i.e. they got jobs outside of the racing industry) then thats were my interest virtually ended. I just heard of too many scams, too many fixes and bullshit penalties for the very few found not to be trying.
Sure I take your point about football being fixed in Germany and the far east betting scams reached this country with the floodlight failures but I ask you this.
What event has more chance of being corrupted? Betting on the outcome of Man Utd v Chelsea or the 2.10 at Uttoxeter?
