He's no heavyweight, but a genius nonetheless, a bit too divisive and surreal for some- Harry Hill. I remember pissing myself laughing to the point of tears watching Harry Hill on a pirate ship with dancing badgers singing that 80s anthem 'I touch myself' at one of his live shows.

Bill Bailey and Sean Lock hit all the right buttons too, Dara O'Brien is my tip for greater things; Lee Evans......not for me. Like the music scene, there are so many genuinely great acts not on the mainstream, plying their trade on the 'undergound' at grass-roots.....and like the music scene, Scotland is a hotbed of talent. Heard of...Frankie Boyle? Raymond Mearns? Michael Redmond?

If you want porn-comedy, have a look at Trey Parker's 'Orgazmo'.

Oh, btw, I do a bit of stand-up myself, !tears! , possible comeback in January! Send me any quality lines!!

!bow!

!wink!

"Died today........a thouroughly nasty piece of work. Was it JUST me or did anyone else find him UN-funny?"

Just you mate. He was a fantastic comedian, a brilliant actor and an amazing guy who hit rock bottom and came back swinging. Talent like that is rare as hell.
