Art is an image that the artist gives birth to using a medium. The visual, spatial side of the brain is used.
Looking at mundane factory produced objects as art in a gallery is using the other hemisphere after reading the verbal justification of the exhibitor.!wink!

It's also about appreciating what is around us as art, even if that was not the original intention, and how that affects, and hopefully expands, our aesthetic judgement. Art can be found as much as created.
