technical help needed

First of all check the connections on your hd. Make sure that the tapes and leads are plugged in correctly. I have this prob on a slave drive. I take the leads out, put them in again and hey presto... If not...

Boot up in safe mode and if you get to your desk top...

Open My Computer > Right Click on "C" and open "Properties" > Tools > Error Checking

Then tick both boxes. It may say that the pc needs to re-boot to perform this.. Do that.

I have had some good b advice.The trouble is as everything is in code it is impossible to carry out simple advice. I think that you are right and that the graphics card needs replacing. I know how to do that so do you think that I should just buy and new card?

Personally if it were me - I would just replace the card if it was causing to much grief to fix.

Thanks for all the help however I have not solved the problem. I have an ASUS computer. The graphics card is not installed in one of the card slots but into the motherboard and I could not remove it!

I have changed a graphics card inthe past and he just pulled out and slotted in but this appears to be beyond my competence.

In the end I re-installed Windows and all the software and this cured the problem.!happy!
