Companies are supposed to make record profits every year. If they didn't, then allowing for inflation, they would have made less profit than last year. Most of the shares are held by the big imvestment companies like Norwich Union, and they just waste the money by giving it away to pensioners.

I'm convinced, gas should be free, just like air.

I used to work for them so I have shed load shares, so I am looking forward to the 22% increase in the dividend

I don't have any shars , as i don't have bitish gas supply me , i have scottish power supply my gas and electricity . But british gas bemoan the fact their supplier has increased their charge and british gas are only passing on the increase of more exspensive "imported gas" , why did they sell a lot of the north sea gas abroad , did't they expect to see 2006 ? rather short sighted no ? . Same with the media hype over the imposed hose-pipe bans in the next few weeks , a woman on sky news yesterday , made me laugh , "we're planning for bigger resovoirs" what's the point if you've got no water to keep in them ? . This comes from the privitisations of the utilities that Thatcher pioneered. It was a license to rob the customer, by selling off (cheap) infrastructure that the taxpayer had invested in for decades. Reagan did the same in the US, and the situation's just as bad there.

Time to renationalise it and run it for the customers, not shareholders. But no chance of Blair (Thatcher II) upsetting his new rich mates.

As has been said before. This is all Thatchers doing, who mark my words will go down in history as the most terrible evil, useless, money grabbing crook witch this country will ever know. She will be long gone dead when all her failings and stupidity come out and therefore won't get any comupance.
