if the NHS had never looked better than why still fucking billions in debt? why the huge waiting lists, especially in rural areas? and considering the debt, why fork out millions to implement a new salary scheme for staff (agenda for change) which makes absolutely no sense and which most medically qualified staff have opted out of? pathetic!

Come to Cumbria where the NHS trust runs ?1m worth of luxury cars for the management and is threatening hundreds of nursing job cuts. Note nursing, not admin, management consultants or car parking wardens (yes you pay a min of ?1 a time to visit your beloveds).

I loath Blair and want to see the back of him, but this government haven't done badly with health or education. They're saying 13,000 nurses are being made redundant, but they have recruited 200,000 more since 1997 - that's still a lot more nurses than there used to be. And they are better paid now too. The NHS is a million times better than it was 10 years ago, even if it's got problems at the moment.

If you want to crucify New Labour, do it because of...

- they're authoritarian bastards
- joining Bush's idiot wars
- transport's fucked
- want to build nuclear power plants
- Blair's annoying smile makes you want to smash his teeth in
- growing sleaze (still not as bad as Major's lot though!)
