As a sour Preston fan I could say 10 yellow cards and 2 reds maintains the dirty leeds reputation. The game undoubtably changed when Brett Ormerod had his leg broken and could have been turned around when the goal was disallowed but.......

However as a football fan I have to say on the night the strongest team won.

North End reached the playoffs largely by having a good defence and our attacking options being mainly good set pieces.

On the night the teams defence failed and our set pieces were none existent.

Leeds simply had a stronger allround quality.

IF you go up I think a lot of the team could play some role and with Ken Bates support you should be able to attract players who should keep you in ther Prem.

Unfortunately North Ends failure will undoubtably result in the sale of our 'crown jewels'. Our board has been looking for excuses to get shut and this will probably be the final nail in the coffin.

Billy Davis didn't help himself by acheiving what he did this season after selling our best assets to you lot last season and our board will expect the same again with their continued financial restraits in place.

After these sales and with the rest of our squad being mainly tired old men the future is looking very poor.

Preston used to be a BIG club Leeds still are, BIG clubs should be in the BIG league and I hope you now go all the way.

I feel a bit sorry for any team that does not win the play-offs as there is soooooo much at stake.
Like you said the strongest team did win, but to me Leeds wanted it more and you could see that with the way they played.
When Ormerod went out of the game and then the lights turned off the writing was on the wall that it wasn't to be Prestons night.
Good luck with next season

good to see some objective fans still around, Billy Wright made his directors laugh when he said he wanted to make the playoffs as a minimum this season, but he did it.

if you carry on next season like this you should be ok

Believe it or not almost the same tactics were used when we played West Ham in the final last year. The 'spirit' of the players was definately the same.

There is a conspiracy theory going that the club don't want to go up because they can't afford it.

Daft by the club when most of the fans I know only want to go up, have a taste, get the money and come back down with enough dosh to pay for the last stand that needs building. The see if we can 'go for it'.

Sadly now the club have found funding for that I can see there being an even bigger lack of interest from the club and in turn from the fans.
