In no particular order, and liable to change next time I'm asked:
Casablanca
Some Like It Hot
Vertigo
The Life And Death Of Colonel Blimp
Picnic At Hanging Rock
Taxi Driver
JFK
Sunset Boulevard
Blade Runner
The Third Man
(Lack of Godfathers/Star Wars/Lord Of The Rings due to the fact that they are parts of series; lack of anything post 1991 due to the fact that films need time to settle and be judged independently of recent pressures---pending approval are The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind among others).
