No really. He had to resign as First Lord after Gallipoli, and served as an infantry officer for several months in 1916 on the Western Front. As I said, he also saw active service on the North West Frontier, Sudan and South Africa, as well as covering the Spanish-American War in Cuba as a war correspondent. It's safe to say he'd seen just a bit more action than el Phonio.
