Ronny said ,his voice rising above the din of pub voices "that's the jury geezer over there." They edged their way towards the juryman.
"Ere mate buy you a drink?"said Scotch Peter.

"Call me Reg he's my namesake," Ronnie said to the frightened juryman. "Here you know what that geezer in the dock is a pal of mine. Know what I mean, like?" His icy blue eyes fixing his prey.

The juryman's heart began to race.

Ronny pulled open the juryman's coat and his mate stuffed a brown paper envelope into his pocket,

" There's a grand in there, it is yours, my pal in the dock knew by the way you looked at him that you were going to bring in a not guilty..."Reggie said, with a funny grin on his face.

Then they were gone in a flash.

I would LOVE to do Jury Service, even if it was a drawn out 10 week fraud case. I'd have my mind made up beforehand like in the Minder episode that featured Arfur Daley doing jury service.
Am I right that you cannot refuse to sit on a jury unless you have dealings with the accused? I know in my army days, someone was excused from an exercise as he was due to sit at a jury.
I do know that your employer HAS to give you time off for jury service as well.......full paid if I'm not mistaken?
