Most P2P networks (I don't use Limewire, I can't stand it & it's a peice of shit) you can get a basic version for free, but with either version (free or paid), you have the risk of Viruses, Trojans, Spyware, Keyloggers, Paedophiliac (purposely mislabeled), etc.

NO, there are all sorts of files under 1Mb, Torrents, Pics, Documents, Program Hacks, etc. NOT all of these are containing nasties, & just because a File is over 1Mb does not Exclude it from infection. Over the last 10 years, I have seen many files infected all over the Internet, not just on P2P, rainging from 2Mb to over 300Mb in size.

No, I have tons of Anti Virus, Firewall, Net Security, etc. The only time my computer goes nuts, is when a file is actually infected, or if it has been renamed with multiple file extensions in its name.

Download the free version of limewire then use that to download the pro version and delete the free version. Voila limewire for free with no viruses

I have known some people who use it with no problems, but I cannot stand it, used a few times, pissed me right off.

Alot less crap with Ares.

i've used most of the P2P progs now - and i now almost exclusively use just torrent sites and a good torrent prog (Azureus)

the upside of Limewire,Shareaza et al is that you can search from within the prog for files - but as you've heard, there are a lot of dummy infected files. Shareaza would be my pref - and it handles torrents too, but is very slow.

Your best bet is to find some good porn torrent sites - most of which require you to register (free of charge) so they can track your ratio (amount uploaded vs downloaded) to make sure you're actually sharing files with the community you have downloaded from. P2P networks stand or fall on whether users actively share "good" content (ie stuff free from viruses that others might actually want to download)
