I look at it the other way, he was only put away because he was a celebrity. How many stories do we see of little arseoles with 100's of driving convictions being involved in a crash and just getting a dose of community service. Hamed may be a twat but if I remember right, he wasn't drunk just driving like an idiot and Joe Public get's away with that every day.
The Courts feel that they should make examples of celebs and have done for years, remember Tony Adams? how many people get put away for DD where no-one else was involved, not too many, I know of people who have been done 3 times and just got a fine and further ban.
After all that, if the law of the land says 18 months, 16 weeks is not enough although he shouldn't have been there in the first place.
