People have the right to do what they want to their own bodies.
However, on purely aesthetic grounds, I loathe tattoos and body piercing. If they have a good reason to do it, then fine; but fashion is the most stupid reason to do anything, imho.

I saw an American porno' magazine the other day and it was more like a copy of "Kerrang" from the late eighties, there was one tart in there with a "Full Sleeve" tattoo like Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue....but with bad fake tits.
A few top Euro Babes sport tattoos, in most cases they are crap depictions of dolphins and flowers but I can think of one that is fucking great and just enhances the model's off the scale hot look.

They are awful and tawdry on women (and men, incidentally) but it's the only way you get to see a butterfly these days
