I doubt they're brainwashed Louise. I'd guess that they like it as it's part of their culture and identity. Plus we cannot dictate upon what they wear as that would mean that the UK is just as bad as the countries in which they descended.

As long as they abide by our laws, and are tolerant of British culture, then I haven't a problem.

They're not brainwashed Bob, but what of the British muslim youth who decide to wear mini skirts and choose their own partners?

Then, we have the problem of Islamic culture clashing with British law.

Louise,

I agree that a Muslim society is male dominated and that children are indoctrinated from birth. Of course they say that they like it because otherwise they would be judged and punished under Sharia law. There are no women judges. I suppose that they like having their clitorises removed as well!

Read a lot of Dawkins when it comes to gene selection etc, and think his ideas & lectures have been fantastic.

You won't get a balanced view on religion from him though!

Y'all some muslim hatin people! I agree that some sects of the muslim religion can be restrictive but I do know that some of them don't mind their face being covered. So why should she be asked to take off her burka IF that's part of her culture, way of life or religion? Heck! I'm the type that would wear a dashiki to a business meeting damn it!

"What gets me-the menfolk love looking at our women, clothed & un-clothed.,and booking the odd stripper here & there. One law for one as the saying goes..."

Hypocrisy is rampant amongst the Moslem community. A lady friend of mine (who just happens to be an escort girl) recently told me about an incident involving a regular Asian client of her?s? So, anyway, she?s driving past this Asian enclave one day, when she sees a small placard waving demonstration ? no, in this instance, it wasn?t Salmon Rushdie, Mr Bush or Danish cartoonists who had incurred their wrath ? it was a protest against a proposed massage parlour in their locality. Anyhow, as she gets a bit closer, who does she clock but her regular Asian punter, ?Mr Hussein?! And blow me down if he?s not waving a placard denouncing scarlet women and harlots! Would you credit it?

Also, a close Moslem pal of mine has told me about the sexual shenanigans that go on in Kashmir and Islamabad. Apparently, the guys over there are so sex starved (what with all those nutty Ayatollahs and Imams leaning on them) that bumming and kiddie fiddling are rife! Though, of course, everyone looks the other way in order to best maintain the charade of Islamic piety.

Whats your view on the report in this mornings papers about muslim taxi drivers being fined for refusing to take guide dogs in their cabs? Should they be allowed to discriminate against disabled people becaause their culture considers dogs to be unclean?

Its this 'equal when it suits us, different when it suits us' attitude that really pisses me and a lot of people off, across all religions, ideologies and collectives.
We have need of you again, great king.

I haven't read that report but we do run into stuff like that here in the states. To me it's a shame for that kinda stuff to happen but it's a lack of understanding on ALL of our part about culture, religion, etc not just as black, white, muslim, jew or gentile but ALL of us. Muslim will be muslim, jews will be jews, mexicans will be mexican, britons will be britons, americans will be american. Can't change that unfortunatly unless you change the mindset of people.
