Hey!!

Sunday dinner at my Mum and Dads aint been the same since they stopped having his show on in the back ground. Part of me ,when I was there was all ways expecting him too come back one day. Sad too finally realise he wont. But what a top bloody bloke he seemed. Fingers crossed it might be Tony Blackburn next!!

I remember him and Johnny Rotten going at it on Juke Box Jury in 1979. Rotten tried to be a smart arse, Freeman won that battle of wills when Johnny slagged off some songs for the sake of it

And that affected his abilities to be a disc jockey how exactly?

When I was a kid, and had very limited access to radio and music, his was one of the few shows to broadcast stuff other than the playlist. And if his taste in music wasn't always cutting edge, at least his enthusiasm could not be doubted.

GQ's blog wasted no time!

"Once you were Fluff.
Now you are dust.
And have fallen out of the charts.
Completely.
Not arf.

You were the friend
Of pop-pickers.
Now the work
Of grave-diggers

?Greetings, pop pickers?
You used to say
?Greetings, St Peter?
Is now order of the day.

You reversed the top ten
So the last were played first
Now the only thing reversing near you
Is a hearse"
