Re: English Cricket
Well England went 4-0 down and have 1 more to play.
The younger players have done well, whats cost them the Ashes is having played well in a few sessions they have not put enough pressure on Australia. In the last test Monty hardly bowled many overs, Flintoff should have had an attacking field for Monty and I'm sure he would have had Symonds out earlier. They were allowed easy singles. But i guess some of them LBW shouts could have gone there way, but thats how it goes. Some times the luck runs with the home side.
They are still a good test side and were beaten by the no.1 ranked team.
Cook passed 1000 runs in his debut year in test cricket. I think its healthy competition to see batsman fighting for places with all of them doing well at some point this season. Monty has taken 40 plus test wickets in 12 tests.. so its not all doom and gloom. Stuart Broad would have been a good inclusion in the test squad. His dad Chris had a great tour of Austalia in 1987 scoring 3 hundreds, the last time they won in Australia.
As some one said you win some, you lose some. Better luck next time in 2009, hopfully reclaim the Ashes.

Well i dont think Michael Vaughn will be back for the final test. He will make his reappearence in the one dayers. As for dropping hoggard, that wont happen for crying out loud, him and flintoff have been are best bowlers so far. I think it will be the same side for the Sydney test. On the positive side for England Cook has a lot of potential, as oes Collingwood. Im not to sure about Ian Bell i think he still needs time. The bottom line is England have been Murdered there seems to be no togetherness in the team, they cant bowl line and lenght, or they bowl one good ball, and the next five are boundaries. Lets hope it pisses it down at Sydney, they predict rain for the first 3 days.

Dalrymple should come in for one of the quick bowlers. I know the Aussies aren't playing 2 spinners which is rare for them at Sydney but they could knock us over with 4 quicks there they way we are batting.
Dalrymple strengthens the tail and can't do any worse with the ball than Mahmood or Jimmy Anderson has done so far.
Honestly we have been pathetic in this series and ever since the surrender on the 5th day in Adelaide England have shown no heart whatsoever. In any sport I can accept defeat and that the opposition can be better than yourselves (as is clearly the case here) but I will never accept a lack of effort and mental fortitude and that's whats happened here.
If Vaughans anywhere near fit then he must come back into the side for the Sydney Test (and as Captain) as the side needs a major pick me up and only he can offer that.
Without it defeat seems inevitable and with it the whitewash.
