I totally disagree that all Pitbulls should be put down.

I personally think its more the owners than the dogs that are to blame, it doesn't make a difference if its a German Shepard, Rotwieler, Jack russell, Akita, Staff Bull Terriers, a Yorkshire Terrier(everyone has had their ankle bitten by one of these usually becuase they have been overly spoilt) or even a Pitbull Terrier if the owners mistreat the dogs and bring them up aggressively then obviously they will be aggressive. Believe it or not thats the case with humans too if kids are brought up in an aggressive enviroment and treated like shit then they tend to have an aggressive nature - should we put them down too?

Its down to the owners not the dogs a freind of mine owns a Pitbull cross breed and he is one of the most freindly and softest dogs I know.

In this tragic case it was the familys total neglect that the child died, number one you do not leave a 5 year old alone with ANY dog, especially when kids have a tendancy to pull the dogs tail or pull its fur which will make almost any dog turn no matter how passive, and number two the dogs owner(the uncle) was already aware of the dogs behavior. As he recieved a warning about keeping the animal under control and whats the odds that the uncle is a chav.

I don`t blame the dog I blame the fucking retarded owner. Everytime its the same, the owner or family comes out with "the dogs never done this before" or some shite. Jail the owners , charge them with manslaughter or negligence or something and ban chavs from owning dogs.

This was debated a few months ago by the respected Marino.
I have linked it below as there were some excellent points worth reading again

At their best they can be very loyal and loving creatures. I doubt the statistics of dog attacks are more than humans who commit murders and drink driving.

My sisters Staff is the sopiest mutt on the earth and very well behaved but I am aware she doesnt know the strength of her own buite when she plays gently which I've had to twatt her a bit and give her the stare...and she knows.

We would never be dumb enough to leave a little child in the presence of her even if sh eis a sweety and when out she is muzzled. Like human beings they can get startled and react in unpredictable ways.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the owners should show more responsibility and should be held culpable for anything their dog does.

The twats that own these dogs are the sort of underclass I saw in Macdonalds by us yesterday.Gobby birds, fake gold chain, permed greasy hair out with two little kids..yells across a family cafe ' Come here you little fuckers or I'll fucking hit yer'. Pure quality...out for lunch from her tower block no doubt.

The owner of this dog is in the Sun today...fur lined shell suit..I fucking despair....

Saw pics of this guy on tv today, not at all surprised to see that he's a chav, got the gear/strut/haircut.
Read on teletext that he is 23yrs old with a drugs conviction, no doubt needed a killer dog for protection, just wish they could set an example by charging him with manslaughter or similar, no doubt he will not be charged at all or be charged with some minor offence that results in very little punishment.

As another forum on the web has put it:

'Today we have more and more legislation with less and less enforcement'.

Enough said.
