I like Arsenal in so much as Wegner unearths some real gems, whereas my beloved Chelsea just buy whoever is recommended is good.....and infact they're not.
I can assure you Shevchenko and Ballack were not Mourinho's choices, nor was the departure of Gallas down to Jose either, whereas I feel that whoever Wegner targets, its HIS choice and not some cunts like Kenyon.
Mind you, I always had a soft spot for George 'Ok, you've twisted my arm' Graham........the FA shit on him when they did him for taking a a bung when others in the game were as guilty and got off scot free

Van Persie looks handy to me and for what it's worth Gilberto Silva is one of the most effective players in his position according to the stats .. I know, treat stats with caution, but Silva's been immense lately and i'm not an Arsenal fan. It was pointed out yesterday how many Arsenal loan players are in the news for scoring (Lupoli, Laarson) or being on the verge of moves (Stokes). There was another player at Birmingham too who was highly spoken of.
It remains to be seen what becomes of some of these players ... Bentley is becoming a good player and someone will probably spend on Upson. Wasn't Boa Morte a one time Arsenal player as was Volz.
I've no great affection for Arsenal, but credit where it's due. They do seem good at developing players and I think the observation about Hleb was a little unfair because his ball retention is excellent.

I never said Van Persie was crap. I said he was a good player but many Arsenal fans I know think he is a superstar and he is not. Good player yes. Superstar no.
I disagree about Pleb and I think I'm right about him. Rosicky is not and has never been one of my favourite players. Tremendous talent but just doesn't produce it enough.
Gilberto is a decent player as is Toure, Fabregas, Adebeyor, Henry is class but turn on the TV, listen to the radio and talk to many Arsenal fans and they'll tell you there all great. Most will tell you they're as good as Man Utd and Chelsea.
Well why aren't they up there with then? Both this year and last?
As for developing players then nearly all these players were bought and not produced through their Academy. Upson for example came from Luton, Fabregas and Flamini were taken (or stolen) from Barcelona and Marseille as were many others.
All these players were bought. Maybe not on the financial scale that Chelsea but they were bought nonetheless and not made by the club.
It may sound that I have an axe to grind against Arsenal but I don't. The truth is they finished 4th in the Premiership last year and were lucky to finish there and they had a very favourable draw to get to the Champs Lge Final. They are 4th again this year.
As I said they are a good side but nowhere near the class of Man Utd and Chelsea and I just wish people would tell it like it is instead of listening to all this gushing talk about them.

I'm with you in that there's a lot of sycophancy in the press and also within the club where Henry is concerned. I thought it was graceless of Wenger to dispute Cannavaro's awards (like he's probably questioned Ronaldinho's in the past) just because he has to be seen to be an advocate for Thierry Henry. I also thought it was beyond laughable for Walcott to be awarded 'Young Sports Personality of the Year'. Walcott's girlfriend is currently on the cover of Arena magazine and I see Walcott's award in the context of product endorsements and commercial opportunities ... oh, and because he plays for Arsenal.

I cannot believe Liverpool fans are still banging on about Hillsborough? They don't want justice, just hard cash so they don't have to go to work.

The rules to being an Arsenal supporter are simple.
When we win we are brilliant the best team in the premiership.
And when they lose they are a bunch of overpaid cunts.
