I have a book by Richard Barnes about The Who I bought years ago when it came out and I had never heard of Ronnie Lane until I saw a picture of him and Peter Townshend when he was helping Ronnie out on an album and I believe it mentioned about his illness then. In 1999 or 2000 I was watching VH1 Behind The Music and they did an hour piece on Rod Steward and along with Kenny Jones and Ron Wood, Ronnie Lane also played with The Faces. I thought it brought it all together then seeing at least Ronnie wasn't just a solo artist and unfortunatly I haven't heard any of his solo stuff. Just as a side note I heard that when Humble Pie (or was it The Stones) and The Faces toured together they had a grand old time.!teacher!

I had a horrible feeling this was going to get out of hand if we weren't careful. Silly really, as we both like Ronnie. I suspect you might not reside in London, but Robert Elms on Radio London has a special place in his heart for RL, referring to his sub-genre of music as 'Neckerchief/waistcoat' due to Ronnie's latter day poacher-like attire. All the best.

None whatsoever, but you might not yet have read my posting about 9/11 - Loose Change.
You will find Elms on 'Listen Again' on the BBC radio website, local/London 94.9 Its very London-centric of course, but he does play excellent music for daytime.

Was he in The Faces? Always thought Ogden's was one of the worst load of blooox ever produced. LSD ruled when that was being recorded.

He was in the Small Faces with Steve Marriott/Ian McLagan/Kenney Jones.
When Marriott left to go to form Humble Pie with Peter Frampton, the rest took on the Jeff Beck Group [less Jeff] of course- two guys called Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood.
They became the Faces.

There is a Ronnie Lane "best of" I recently purchased thru' eBay called "How Come". It's not a lot and contains most of his important post-Faces work
