It may not cost much to stand but then why should it cost anything? To stand any chance of winning an election here you need millions of pounds and that is what the selling peerages is all about. You need capitalist money in order to perpetuate global consumerism and no other political system stands a chance in England against the public schoolboys of the Labcon or Conlab parties. You do not have a democratic system only a rotten corrupt device to con the masses!
Good for Scotland that it has PR: I did not know that. If I was a Scot I would vote SNP.
