Mark, for the love of god, please do not name your child after an Arsenal football player, it is a sure guarantee your son/daughter will grow up and support Spurs!!

I agree Mike, I hope you haven't read this thread and thought I was anti-kids - I have five great kids, ranging from ages 4 through to 16 and love them to bits as most mums do, I just read that article and it made me giggle!

Nice to hear that you are surrounded by kids that you love. I have four ages : girl 42, boy 40, boy 5 and girl 3! Have another couple later on and it will rejuvenate you.

I am living on an organic farm and will soon be totally self sufficient and there is practically no pollution. My children are happy and free with two acres of land to play in.
Throughout history humankind could never be sure of surviving from one day to the next. When the pollution is cleaned up in the future and the consumer society is no more there will be a re-forestation of the planet and I am sure that in the age of the computer people around the planet will exchange information and the modern day state will lose its power.
I live in hope for a better world.

You are talking absolute nonsense! I am self sufficient and all I am doing is growing enough food to feed my family. I am not responsible for producing any pollution and I use the rotation of crops principle, letting a fifth of the land lying fallow and plowing the weeds back in to produce nitrogen.
I am not responsible for any deforestation and in fact I am planting lots of trees.
The re-forestration of the earth is a top priority and when global capitalism breaks down those of us who are self sufficient will survive . One day you will go into the supermarkets and there will be little to choose from. There will b food riots as all you city dwellers will be crying out for food. The day is coming when the oil runs out!
The city dwellers will come begging for food and trying to steal my crops. I may have to shoot them to protect my family and survive. Incidentally pollution down here hardly exists!
Warren are you a survivor or are you just going to keep on consuming until the end?
