I've just read that Prescott has said that the government will do all it can to find this missing child. We'd all like to know what the government CAN actually do?

I think you have hit the nail on the head Von Boy, of course you could add that if little Maddy wasn't so photogenic would she be getting the same amount of press attention ... I think not.
Let's hope and pray that she is found alive and well as NO PARENT no matter what their social standing (or how stupid they have been in our eyes) deserves to live with THIS for the rest of their days.

It's all to do with where it happened, and when, and the circumstances. The summer holidays will be with us soon, and families heading off to sunnier climes won't be as relaxed as they might have been, and the kiddies will be under constant supervision.

There's not much happening, which is why the media is going big guns on it. Iraq is the same story every week; the Government is treading water until Blair moves aside; and the celeb gossip has kind of dried up. As I've suggested before, the blame game can wait until a resolution one way or the other.

I might be stupid, blind, optimist, but I really hope there is a happy ending to this awful thing.

Mentioning he fact that these idiots left their kids on their lonesome IS appropriate, I did not ever mention this was inappropriate.

I felt that highlighting whether or not the papers would vilify another 'class' of person was inappropriate- i feel the bigger picture is the FATE OF A CHILD, which is still as yet unknown, not the hypothetical reaction of the gutter press to the same situation applied to another person/family of differing social stature.

I defend my right to justify what I've said, so, I waste two minutes typing the above to clarify this to you, TW.

So, before you blurt out "It's absolutely appropriate!!!" when you have read a post totally out of context, please think about it. You could also have read my posts further down that would have clarified my stance further.

Gawd.

Some people.

We do tend to be polar opposites in our views. Is it left v right, liberal v conservative, old-school vs new-school, free-thinking v hard fact.......?

Right v wrong is too easy a reply.

We can agree on something else if you like:

Here's hoping Man United hammer Chelsea!!

No disrespect to our very own True Blue, Ace.

I'm just a bit disgruntled that the raving egotist Alex 'Tosser' Salmond has scuttled back from Westminister to claim the Scotland prize as his own.

I need this smiley, mods: !miffed!

Its true though....If it was some 18 year old couple who lived on a council estate and claimed benefits who had left their little ones on their own the media would have had a field day!

I completely agree with Von Boy on this one.
