As Ive posted, I use the Comodo firewall & it is quite (meaning 'very' in American--I understand it has a diff connotation in Old Blighty) good.
Anti-Vir is a very good & simple to use free AV. I use Avast, which requires registration after a while. Can do extremely thorough scans. There is no need to pay for AV. Spend your money on Spyware Doctor or Spysweeper if you must.Free AS utilities arent quite up to snuff unless you use at least two.
& scan once a week at HouseCall.

I think the appropriate advice may be if it ain't broke don't fix it. When trying to settle on an anti-virus/firewall/spyware combo I read several reviews in computer publications and it seems all have their pros and cons. If it's working and your happy with it then stick with it. As a previous poster said it's less than a pound a week.

Sack it BB, it,s only spyware itself, get AVG from grisoft, you can run a scan anytime on or offline, and even better, just a scan of a particular file/folder anything or a complete system scan, the only reason it's free at the moment is they hope people will upgrade to the pro-version, but for hom use you cant whack it with ablunt cucumber...

For my security against spyware and such i use PestPatrol Corporate edition, i have never had a problem with it for the last 4 years. I use Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic for virus detection.

I use McAfee and after I updated I've had nothing but problems.
I can go online but once it updates it won't let me do anything.
I ended up using system restore, went back to how it was before and it works fine. Apart from the annoying pop-up box coming on regularly to tell me I am not protected.
I've emailed them on a number of occasions and got no reply.
I am no computer expert and not sure if it is a problem is with firefox, virgin media, who supply my internet or something else.
I need my pc for work so am having to put up with it but McAfee not replying makes me suggest that you stay well clear.
