The word 'Chap' is absolutely acceptable, also could I add 'Old bean' and 'dear boy' to the list.(but, and I make this clear, not in a peudo way)

'Old bean' and 'dear boy' are deemed for the good posters here, but who is a 'cad and a bounder' amongst us?

Yes steve im not currently that near Ashby,but its not that far from Melton. Used to take girls over to a nice boozer there once upon a time. Why? Have you got a faulty packet of Hola hoops you want me to take back for you?

Hello Ace
Bounder is a great word. I do find myself using it now and again. Much like the Carey grant thing,part of me hopes that one day I still might turn into Terry Thomas.
What an absolute shower.....

I recall the fury when Diana was shagging Hewitt and his CO distanced his regiment from Major Hewitt with the immortal;
'He's a cad, a cad and a bounder, sir'
