So, 18 in pubs but only 21 in off-licenses is it?

I imagine for most counterstaff it's difficult enough spotting the underage purchaser, let alone ascertaining between 18 and 21.

I take it some form of ID will come into being.

A complete waste of time and probably a lot of money too.

Wazzok! you obviously dont get out much, in Manchester the pubs have taken over from clubs and some are open all night, they close when the last person goes, admitidely this is mainly thurs,fri,sat, anyway I dont really have a problem with that, as I have been in some of them many times, my point was more about how you go about educating younger people to stop killing themselves with alcohol when it is so freely available and cheap, or do we just use the dave maxim "fuck off and die" which I dont happen to agree with.

ps, I,m not suggesting you dont get out much, I know how popular those knitting circles are in Perth.

Seriously Wazzer, some of the pubs around Canal street in Manchester only close on a Sunday at 11.00pm and re-open Monday at 11.00 am, so yes 24hrs, same in Newcastle City Centre as well..
