Ok ok...I've calmed down abit and thought about this. As much as I would love to have the game I have to defend (gasp) the BBFC role in making this decision to reject it and why you cant totally hate censorship.
Lets face it there will always be some kind of censorship that should be endorsed. Just because you think you are of sound mind and judgement and should have the right as an adult to watch what you want doesnt mean that everyone is like yourself.
I do believe there has to be a moral standard set to protect various groups such as minors and those of a mentally disturbed disposition. If you dont believe in censorship then I'll give you an example right here...Would you be happy if you saw child pornography and snuff films openly on sale in shops for ?9.99 a throw?...Exactly. While that is an extreme example you have to consider the merits (or lack of) that mindless violence as entertainment has on the social fabric of society and think beyond your own selfish wants and desires here and understand that organisations like the BBFC are not the big bad guys we always make them out to be.
Hell I even agree with Ofcom pussyfooting on their decisions to allow hardcore on terrestrial television. Plenty of tits and arse compensate the nations want for a bit of lady flesh and lust. If you want the good hard stuff then go to the internet. I'm more in favour of classification than just censorship but then lets face it, some things should be censored or in this case , even rejected. I imagine that Man Hunt 2 went into territory that superceded its predecessor which blurs the line between sick fantasy and entertainment.
Right. That said I'm getting off my soapbox and having a nice cup of tea.
