Allan,
I think you are focusing too much on the ability to do something rather than peoples requirements. What I mean by this is as follows.
1. There are always going to be people who think its too expensive. They will always buy pirate stuff.Your marketing books should tell you this is the "lower end" of the market.
2. There are people who think its the right price and will buy it through normal channels. These people fall into your purchasing demographic and you should be targeting your marketing at these individuals. This should include allaying such fears as reputation (probably the biggest to overcome for porn), delivery (what if my neighbours find out!) and quality content (why people like Ben Dover are so popular is because people are assured of getting what they want.)
3. There are then people who have so much money that they pay for customised services to get what they want when they want and on their terms. They are the "higher end" market.
Why am I saying all this? BECAUSE I HATE SWEEPING STATEMENTS!
I am not a number. Stop making out as if everyone in the world is interested in buying porn like a drugs deal. I personally am prepared to pay to get quality and do not think ?20 per tape or ?30 per DVD is too expensive as long as I get the quality content I want.
Legitimisation of the industry is more important to ensure purchasing through distribution than lowering prices, as what you are explaining is black market trading.

Hi, just wondering if you are Jason who I knew when he was producing British hardcore tapes from Crystal Palace in the early nineties. He had a nice Merc Compressor....
