If the Prime minster of a leading world nation isn't allowed a nice car/house, and a good wage, who is?
I wouldn't expect them to live in a council flat, be on ?5.56 an hour, and catch the tube to Westminster every day.
I think 90% do care greatly about our nation; I just think it must be one of the most demanding, time consuming, stressful jobs you can come across.
Juggling the approval of 60 million people+, all with differing interests, cultural upbringings, political/religious associations and general needs, must mean you cannot win in any situation. Someone's always going to think you're a scumbag, while others adore you.
A 'fucked if you do, fucked if you don't' situation if ever there was one.
