Checking my Yahoo Mail account I can't find any way to insert photos - only attatching is possible.

So unless she is willing to change to an online email service that allows insertions then there doesn't seem to be much hope - emailwise.

Another options is online photo hosting. Photobucket or Imageshack are the two most popular but may I suggest www.flickr.com?

There you can upload photos and keep them private to yourself so no-one you don't want to see them can see them. You can let them be viewed by "friends" and "family" but these people need to be members of flickr.com and also added as a "friend" or "family" by you.

But every photo uploaded has its own URL which could be pasted into an email and then viewed by someone else by copying and pasting the URL into a web browser.

Here is a photo I uploaded to my flickr.com account and marked private:

Members of flickr.com cannot see it since it is not displayed in my public gallery. Even my "friends" and "family" cannot see it because it is not marked for them to see.

But the above URL bypasses all of that and should take you straight to the photo on flickr.com's servers.

Let me know if you can see the picture because it should work - but it may not and if it doesn't then please ignore this post as it is a total waste of time. Sorry.

Thank you.

Mike, without seeing the problem first hand, it's difficult for me to think what else could be the problem. Could you get her to send me an example of what she's getting thats going wrong?

Sometimes simple problems are anything but which isn't surprising given how complex computers are

Personally I'd be posting my problem on a computer forum for email specific problems like here
