he reminds me more of gerrard, but if we're comparing him to city leg's then he definately has the colin bell style of game to him. Hes gonna be a massive star for us.

So am i the only one actually hoping for a man u win on sunday then??

Not that i dont despise manu nor is it that i dont like citeh as i find them to be one of the last remaining true clubs going.

But as an unhappy hammer im more than worried that with the donkeys we`ve signed compared to sven, citeh will be out of our reach come december!!

Think the titles gonna hinge big time on what happens in january when all chelski`s african players piss off for a month.

Spurs will still finish above the arse i hate to admit.

everton, citeh, pompey and the toon will contest places 6-9!

bolton will sell anelka, boro` will sell yakubu and both will fight it out with birmingham, reading and derby for the 3 relegation spots!!

and as for the boys from east london??

a nice trouble free mid table finish would do me lovely!!

Sorry, but your comment about Spurs is utter bollocks.

Tottenham is one of the most financially secure clubs in the world. Our spending is all within our means. We are one of the few Premiership clubs to have a wages' ceiling which we stick to.

Spurs has a long tradition of top flight football and finished just outside the top four in two successive seasons. Martin Jol is the most sucessful manager Spurs has had in the modern era. He achieved minor miracles in the Netherlands before coming here, to universal acclaim. Ferguson and Mourinho are both on record as saying he is part of a managerial elite within the Premiership.

I believe we'll finish 4th-6th again this season. I also think we have a good chance of winning the UEFA Cup. The media hysteria currently surrounding Spurs is just there to fill up the column inches.

The only similarity with Leeds is that both clubs have seen glory days in another era.

Chelsea will win, Mourinho will replace Fergie at Man United after Abramovich sacks him, sells Chelsea back to Ken Bates or worse Michael Knighton and buys ?250m worth of Arab Stallions or an F1 team like McLaren.

Arsenal will go out of Europe early and by fuck will they miss Henry.

Boro, Derby and hopefully Sunderland to drop though Bolton will also struggle.

Seriously this has to be Fergie's last season. He has gone stale, has kept Giggs, Scholes, Solskjaer, Neville etc too long and has spent a fortune on unproven new boys like Nana Mousecurry and Hans K Andersoon...

City will finish about 8th. Spurs will flop. Everton and Villa are due a successful season, both get great crowds of loyal fans who deserve better.

Rooney will be caught dry bumming his cat and his girlfriend will go back to being a big thighed nobody.

Erm...it's not as easy as spend as win. The only club ever to succeed purely using that formula is CFC with unique assets.

"Doing a Leeds" means asset stripping your club and then being consumed by debt. There are numerous clubs in the Prem who have failed to "win anything" after large outlays, most notably Newcastle.

What Jol did in the Netherlands was a MASSIVE achievement given his resources. From Wiki:

1991 when he took over at the amateur side ADO Den Haag and took them from the Third Division to the First Division.

Moved to Scheveningen for one season where he won the national non-league championship.

Spent two years at Roda JC during which time he won the Dutch cup (Roda's first trophy for 30 years).

1998-2004 Jol managed RKC Waalwijk where he saved them from relegation and was honoured as the Dutch Football Writers Coach of the Year in 2001 and Dutch Players and Coaches Coach of the Year in 2002. N.B. Waalwijk are about the equivalent of Derby.

Manchester United spoke to Jol about becoming their assistant manager in 2003. Jol was seen as Fergie's successor but turned it down knowing the haridryer was going nowhere. He took the role under Santini explicitly to take over within two years.

By all means criticise the man, but at least give him the credit that he's due.
