Re: which web browser
Firefox & Opera are two great browsers.
I've used Firefox since it's first year (didn't bother with Mozilla), and had no problems security wise. The latest Firefox won't give you any worries whatsoever, and if certain websites don't display properly (Less than 2% i'd guess) then use IE7.
I'm using Opera, and have been for about a month now. Only because I wanted to become more familiar with it.
Firefox owns IE7 and has tons of skins, plugins and applications you can add on.
Seriously; ditch IE.

Yeah, that's it. You still have IE7 as backup, so you've no worries. I can almost guarantee you won't go back to IE if you give it a month or so.

[shift] + [+] for larger font. It's more like a zoom though as graphics are also larger. Just [-] to get it back down.
View>zoom also works.

Re: help sam please
Yeah, it's nothing. It's just telling you bgafd isn't a secure, encrypted site. It's mainly to warn you for times when you're sending credit card details and the like to 'dodgy' sites. Since you're only sending a username and password, it's fine.
